I had been having a few problems getting the 400 to work with my 003 - and thought I would pass on the advice from digi for other users benefit.
Obviously b4 you begin hook up your spdif out to the spdif in of your protools interface - be it a mbox 2 002 or 003 whatever. (making sure that your cable is working)
Firstly please default the IO settings in Pro Tools.
1. Launch Pro Tools.
2. Create a new blank session and match it's sample rate to your source device. (look in the mpcs global window and see what your system clock says and match it in pro tools)
3. Go to Setup > I/O > Input (tab).
4. Click the "Default" button then "OK".
Next we will sync Pro Tools to the SPDIF signal.
1. Go to Setup > Session.
2. Select SPDIF as the "Clock Source" and close the Session Setup box.
Setup audio routing in Pro Tools.
1. Go to Track > New.
2. Create "1 new Audio Track in Samples".
3. In the Mix window set the audio input for your audio track to Interface > 17-18.
4. Record enable the audio track.
Pro Tools should now be monitoring the SPDIF input through your audio track. Do you hear the signal?
