Just wanted to say hey and thanks for having a great forum.
I wanted to get into beat making with hardware, I've been using Fruity for years. I recently purchased a NI Maschine in hopes I could live with it...2 hours after getting it home I realized there was no time-stretch feature. So, I've put it back in the box until version 2 or something lol. That's what I get for an impulse buy
So, back to this lastest impulse buy
I hope I'll be please with the mpc, I can already hear the difference and I can certainly feel the timing of the sequencer...I guess that's why I just paid 750.00 for something years old with a dinky screen right?
Couple questions for the lastest newb if ya don't mind...
1) Anything I should look for being broken on the 4k? I mean I got it at a pawn shop, I gave a quick run through of what I could without reading the manual so far...just curious if there's any typical malfunctions to be on the look for.
2) I'm still reading posts here about aksys. I've loaded virt pc and virt xp for win 7x64. I've got a couple hundred akai sample cd's that I've collected years ago, what's the best way to get them to a akai formatted drive? Can I do some surgery from the pc or do I actually need to rip every disc one at a time from the mpc?
Looking forward to lurking around here, cheers!
