Removing or adding regions without resetting start/end point

I was wondering: When you region slice a sample in let's say 12 regions and you come to the last slice discovering
you need one region more, or want to remove the last region, how do you do this without the yellow button?
Because if you set all the start and ending points right for all slices it will be reset when adding/removing one region

I have the feeling i saw this option once, but can't find it anymore... Did i dream it or can it be done?

I don't do any of my sample editing on the 4k at all. I mostly go about it by doing this off line with an editing program then import it back to the 4k via ak.sys.

So I'm virtually no help to you.

But I'm sure someone will chime in with your answer.

So i turned on the 4K to find this function, but i cant find it.. my initial problem. Where can i find this option when trimming regions?

What version of the o.s. are you using...1.50, 1.60, 1.70, 1.71?

If it's not 1.71, then I'd advise you to upgrade.

i'm overlooking something but i've tried everything (i think..) with the yellow button and with [edit] but can't find it
It's part of my workflow being able to add or remove regions that's why i'm a little anxious to find out

MPC4K can combine audio, so it's different than MPC1K/2500 which can combine regions.

OK all you really have to do is select your number of zones, you really should easily know how many you need just by listening to the sample.
If you determine that you need more regions just save the current regions then re-chop the last region.
You can split the last region however needed or combine pieces.

This is why I recommend that owners of the newer MPC's or the MV always take time and compare the features of old MPC before buying by reading the 4k manuals.
The 4k is a great unit and a true workhorse but certain aspects of it fall short because of things that were put in place after the 4k was created.
Doesn't mean you can't do it, just means it's not as straight forward as what you are use to.

Yo Ntalec! I know what you mean by counting the sample but sometimes it's hard to know exactly how im gona cut so it's nice to have a choice in doing it. More freedom.
I love the mpc 4000 allready more than i ever loved the 2500, so i dont panic when this feature is not present in the 4K, but...

How do i go about to re-chop the last region and save the current regions, I dont know what you mean. Is this in the [edit] function while chopping? I still dont know HOW to do this with the last region, like i said before. I'm working every day on the 4K but havent found it out yet.

If you can find a good audio editing program, you can do your chopping there then send it back to the 4k and do your assignments or whatever.

After cutting 13 years on software i will never do that shit again, even if such thing as splitting or merging regions appears impossible on 4k.
The 4k is my dream machine, so i dont mind if it takes me more time.

But it would be nice though if someone could tell me how to... aah never mind.
