recording track mute changes to a sequence

I looked everywhere for this, but couldn't find it. please help me out if you can!

On my track mute screen, I can't figure out how to record the muted and soloed changes to the sequence. Also, if the sequence I'm editing is one where I used the song feature to repeat an original sequence a bunch of times, the mpc will automatically unmute certain tracks whenever the sequence gets looped. Any idea why this happens?

Finally, what do the "hold" and "clear" buttons do? I've never noticed a change when I hit them.

I read the manual, and have a better understanding of the track mute page, but like it says in the manual, track mute functions are saved in a memory separate from the sequence...

Is there no way to automatically change my sequence into the way that it plays in the track mute function?

I can always go into the main page and edit manually to make the sequence play as it does in track mute, but I feel like I should just be able to copy the information from track mute onto the sequence somehow.

Unless I'm going mad my mpc remembers its track mutes with each sequence. My live set would be screwed if it didn't!

I've messed around with this, and it does remember the track mutes, but only when I'm in the track mute screen.

I want the arrangements in the track mute section to actually BE the sequence as it would play in the main screen. But no biggie, I can always go and edit the sequence to match the way it plays in the track mute screen...

I guess it's in the way you save your sequences. You do have the option of saving what you want saved from my experiences.

Once in the save screen, you can toggle through a couple of options, but a majority of the time I'll do a "save all".

BTW, what version of the o.s. are you running?

Honestly, I have no idea what version of os I'm running. maybe 9? It's so rare that I hook the mpc up to a laptop, but the aksys program looks really old fashioned, if that's a help. I got the 4000 six years ago.

Hit "global" then "F3 or Config" and you'll see what version you're running.

The latest and the last version is 1.71.

So if you're not running that, this may be why you're not seeing certain features in the current version you're using.

The Track Mute Event/Erase All Muted Tracks pop-up window opens up when the [WINODW] key is
pressed while the cursor is at Mute field of Track block in MAIN mode.
Use track mute events field
ON In sequence play, the mute of each track is switched on/off automatically according to
the Track Mute Events recorded in the TRACK MUTE page.
OFF In sequence play, the Track Mute Events recorded in the TRACK MUTE page are not used.

took that out of addendum to the manual . was just trying to figure this out today myself. Tis well hidden!

Yup, this right here was a GODSEND! I only wish they allowed you to record "solo" actions, which would allow you to record track mutes for all tracks but one. Would make things much easier if that is ever needed by the user.
