just copy your tracks as needed,then delete unwanted notes using the erase key.
i guess you got your "invailid directory" prolem sorted?

move the cursor to track, press 'WINDOW' key, press 'SEPERATE' and 'do it' will seperate a track to 16 other MIDI channels.

ikke wouldnt it make sense if there was also a seperate by note function as well?
i forgot ya can also highlight a selection and push "copy" then "copy to"(F3)
and select desired seq ,track ,paste point,event,mode,copies.

I was in the middle of a paying session didnt have much time to indi. copy and paste
So what I did was just copied each track (say I had a snare kick hat) per how many times I wanted to seperate it(in this case x3 one extra incase I **** up) after that I just mass erased the other notes, took like 1min, I was happy so was the customer
