Auch ive checked the mv8k at a friends house, and i got to tell, the MV is away ahead of the mpc4k concerning midi-implementation and the quality of the user interface.
Its got autochop so it cuts samples on db like recycle, and autoasigns the samples to the pads so you wont have to waste time going to pad assign. Editting velocity and note duration is way faster, and there is totaly no sign of any screenredraw problems or what so ever.

Also the audiotracks in the MV are so easy, you can just loop a certain track, and press mixdown,, an there it is,,, you have an audiotrack of a sample (without having to resample and stuff).

And the effects will blow you away, they sound great at least 2300 times better then the mpc, its got eq for each track (instead of having to use it in one of 4 effect sends).
The pads feel much more solid, and the midi implementation is more efficient.

It was a realy painfull experience for me to play around with the mv8000 and see that the mv already got audition from hd, no padstuttering, no slow screen redraw problems etc.

Bothom line is: Its possible to EQ, use good effects, and make a total mixdown of a song(compression finalising) and make it sound realy good without any other tools. The mpc4k cant do this, the fx implementation is way to poor, and its not possible to equalise different tracks or sounds without using the fxbusses. OS1.6 better be good if akai want to keep up with the competition

4 track sequencer? thats the sp606 or whatever... the mv has a gang of tracks... its always looked like a solid piece but i'm unsure of it... they even have 2 of their own forums now (mvnation.com and mv8000.com)... We gotta battle them muddafukkas!!

Mohammed, you work for Roland or something? hehe, na i'm playin... thanks for an unbiased opinion.

I think a combination of a 60 and that MV would be a wet dream! :D And affordable to! The price of one 4k. 8) Hmm...

The MV also has its shortcommings in some areas as well...some would consider those areas more important....

its not all flower and roses above the 4k

If your 4k is still studdering, you need to actually break your shit in and stop carassing it like its a little girl

This is a Mpc 4000 forum. Who cares about Roland. I'll never trust one machine for all of my production, and recording needs. As far efx go I prefer to use Pro Tools for that. The MV looks good, but I trust Akai to much too switch. If Akai put as much into the machine as some of you guys expect then it would be out of the average consumers price range. People want the 4000 to be a save all,end all machine, but forget that it's your creativity that really makes your tracks hot. The MV may work best for the next man,but might slow the next guy down. The MV is no better machine than the 4000,or vise versa. Mohammed no disrespect, but it still seems to me as if you never grasped the basics of the 4000. Maybe the MV is best for you. It's easy to down a machine when you truly dont understand it. As fars as pad stuttering goes either your machine is trash,or you are doing something wrong.

The grass is always greener on the other side. When are you going to switch machines Mo? Action speaks louder than words if it fits you and it is matches your personality don`t hesitant jump at it. I reviewed the same machine too, but each person has different priorities and needs. I compared the ppqs MPC 960 vs MV 480 ppqs it helps on how tight you may want your programming to be, Optional outs MPC 8 vs MV 6 outs, Sampling rate MPC up to 96kHz vs MV 44.1kHz, MPC 300k notes vs MV 150k notes, MPC 4 midi outs and 2 midi ins vs MV 2 midi outs and 1 midi in. All I`m sayin is for me that was my buying decision when I picked up the 4000 coming from the 2000XL. Familiarity of the MPC series for me. Yet it is a tool and if you feel Mo that the MV is a better tool for your production by all means sell the MPC and buy that MV. I mainly use my Roland 2480 for effects on my tracks so I don`t dwell on it. I use with Aksys to sound design samples and import into a DAW. I mainly use the MPC as a sequencer not a digital audio editor. My computer makes it easier and more effective. And if anybody mastered the qlink feature you will love the dj like improvisation you can use in your production. Being in Japan I often see displays and mag articles comparing both machines side by side. I don`t know but so far the MPC is the greatest gainer especially when someone who experienced demostrates the capabilities of each machine. Make music and find the tools that fit you.

Peace Mohammad and may the MV be with you. :D

By the way how many compliants have you checked on the MV-8000 forum they may be someone wanting to switch over from the MV to the MPC.

Just a point of view (paradigim)

lol people getting upset because he likes the MV..... thats pathetic if you ask me.....the MPC and the MV8000 are MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, neither is perfect and both have thier ups and downs..... Use whats best suited to YOUR needs and don't worry about what the other man has.... just bang out some beats.... The casual music fan who BUYS MUSIC wouldn't care if you made beats out of wooden spoons..... If they like it , they buy.

I may be wrong but, i don`t think the responds is over what a person likes, to go deep in the matter is whether a person can use an instrument or not. Everyone`s mastery over their instrument differs person to person according the time, effort, and support they received in thier endeavors. However, sometimes people differ according to their way of thinking. If one person views tool as challenges to improve and increase their skills in making music they appriecate the skills they develop in mastering their craft and instruments. On the other hand if a person views a tool as an obstacle to thier craft and lacks the understanding how these challenges wiii develop thier skills once they master it, dialog between learning and helping each other becomes giving up on what you have and moving on to something else. My point is above finding solutions to one`s problems and others will help. If one can`t find a solution to one`s problems then let the others continue on and that person move on to another way.

Once anyone masters their tool they can find a the diamonds they wish with what they have. It`s the understanding and skill of the holder that ultimately counts in making great music.

Peace out

In plain English nobody`s mad over what someone likes. I`m happy for him once he can make the music he wants to make. Most fans don`t care which tools you use just as long as the music it good. But my point is Boogie, once you MastereD your tool you can make the music you want ,not before. So I pointed out if the tool was mastered or not?

If Boogie didn`t master his instrument, does that mean that its a piece of junk, or inferior to something else. From my understanding maybe more time, patience, effort, and support is needed. It really depends on the individual`s temperment.

My question to you Boogie is if i tell you that my way isn`t working and I believe that another way is better should you quit what you are doing and follow me. Or should you find your way with the help of like-minded people to perfect your craft and improve your skill with what you have?

Snoop quote "I don`t hate and I have never been a hater."

If you quote someone carefully read the post and try to understand it. If you don`t understand ask a question. Never assume anything it leads to mistakes.

lol you should read carefully and get the facts before jumping the gun!! :D
