not hearing my drums

im new with the mpc4k,i switched from the mpc3k and im still learning the ropes. the problem im having is when i load my drum program i dont hear my drums when im in the main screen but when i go back to the program screen and press the pad i hear my drums.

Make sure you got program activated after part (1)? on the lower main screen
