Does the sequence to sample thing only work when your using sounds loaded onto the mpc. cos im using external synth sounds for my sequences and it aint workin. I have to use the analogue option.

no machine can sample with out the signal running into it, so sample whats in the mpc then sample the signal from your outboard gear

main out records everything comin out the main stereo outputs L+R.

when u select main out for sampling the mpc routes it to the sampler section for u ..... u must run leads from outboard gear to the mpc to sample those...

god i still dont get it. I just dont see the point of sampling something thats already been sampled. when you add effects to a sample it automatically resamples it for you. But ill just accept that it is useful for some people but not for me- yet.
Thanks for your help.

its like bouncing tracks in qbase.. not just per sound... best for the dj... take your whole sequence turn it into one sample...lets say imdoing a live dj set and made beats to mix accapella with instead of loading 10 sequences i just load 1 with the 10 loops 1 0n each track

if you have a mixer and I azume u do, you can set the mpc to record externaly and sample the main sterio out from the mixer (all the sounds that are running into the mixer: mpc, synths ect) ...most mixers have busses for this ..

I think i get it. If your using things in conjunction with your mpc and its all goin into the mixer. the main out option lets you sample everything thats goin into the mixer. If thats right thats pretty neat. I dont do djing and never will(nothin aghainst it though) so the other thing about the djing i really dont understand.

I dont have a mixer. I wanna just use the mpc for everything. If i sample everything I can assign it to parts and then control it from there. Thats the plan though i think ill have to use the computer somehow until i get more RAM. I was new to this stuff when I got the mpc so stop me if im talking shite. Sounds daft but im more a musician than a techie and loved the idea of having a big box for just making music and now its fascinating but as people say a sharp learning curve and can be frustratin so thanks for your help. I find the sequencing easy enough but puttin vocals and samplin is tricky. I m gonna download those other help manuals mentioned in the forum cos the manual tells you the obvious things and never actually tells you why you would want to do anything in it so its hard to get into theyre way of thinking.Chou
