Question:Copying to phrase library. When and Why?

Can someone break down useful operations of the copying to the Phrase Library? One technique that I would like to do, is be able to paste any sound, at any time, in SEQ EDIT grid mode. is doing this quickly, possible? If so how? Is there a way for me to tap the sample I want to place and paste it into a track in edit mode:?:

ya man i feel u on this one and also when assining samples to pad why can i only select the one's in the program i loaded ? and not be able to select a samples froma different program.

Ok quick tip for editing in the Seq Edit window. Go to the grid and to the spot where you want to drop in a sound. While play back is stopped hit overdub and then the drum you want. Now you can micro edit to your hearts content

are you guys copying to phrase library and then pasting onto another sequence yet FORGETTING to make sure your program is dialed in correctly below the sequence box?
Remember the machine must KNOW what program to "drw" the sounds from..

Hey Freddy I am still not really using the Phrase Library as of yet. Can you give me a break down of how you would use this function in edit mode. I'm not sure of it's purpose and a little explaination would be much appreciated. Thanx

say that you did a complex arrangement of 808 kicks and snares on a sequence and you really dig what you did
go to edit mode and copy the notes (data) by holding shift and jogging the wheel to highlite all the notes you just made, now copy that to phrase library and name it 808 arrangement or something..now go to another sequence that you feel would benefit from this complex arrangement that you just made and paste it into the sequence... in other words if you have like 20 sequences made that your gonna eventually put into a song than this is a handy feature,,,if you use the mpc just to bang out a few sequences then this feature wont really be needed much..

so this feature would be the equivalent to going in Step Edit Mode and using the "Copy To" function. Only more flexable because I can paste the sound events from any point in Grid mode, correct?? I will try it again.

plus you havee a library of paste events at your fingertips that you have prechosen to paste

Where does the MPC actually store the libraries? Are they accessible on the hard disk or are the part of the ALL file? It would be great if I could pull sequences out of the library as MIDI files and put them back in after I have done some serious editing in cubase...

Now this is an example of a great question. haha unfortunately I don't know the answer but your brain was woking just like mine for a second. Bring tha Heavyweights out!
