4000 started giving out?-- [UNSOLVED]-- stopped working agai

so i was using it, everything was going fine, and then out of nowhere the timer started to skip. the sounds will play but i cant switch menus or anything until all of the sounds finish playing, and sometimes they'll even only play one at a time. is this common? im assuming the mobo or cpu is just dying, is it easy to replace?

fix: i had bought this from someone else, and it had the 512 mb ram upgrade, and it seems that once i took the ram out it ran MUCH more quickly. going to the store today to get GOOD ram.
