Crashes in MPC 4000

Hello.
I bought a second hand 4000 is not what happens but I have problems with "MULTIS". When I boot the machine I'm going to delete the automatically generated multi me, I give when I press DELETE and DO IT MPC is blocking me and I have to turn off the machine.
I have also found that when I save a project on the hard disk then another day recovery from the hard drive and when loading the "Multi 1" remains unchanged blocked the progress bar stops and does not continue, forcing me off again the machine.
I tried removing the RAM modules and hard disk but the problem persists. I tried also with the three operating systems that exist in akaipro (1.6, 1.7 and 1.71) but not solved.
The truth is that I'm desperate now.
Let's see if anyone knows because I may be happening.

I know this ain't much help, but I wish I could give you some insight on what's ailing your 4k.

I've never experienced any symptoms like this so all I can ask would be....do you think climate (moisture) could have cause this?

Or maybe shock damage to the unit. Meaning an accidental hard fall or drop that might have caused internal board damage or something of sorts?

Not knowing any of these type of conditions makes it hard to pinpoint a solution to your problem.

Also is this a white akai pro (pre-numark) or blue numark 4k which would kinda lead to some speculation that something internal (defective mainboard maybe) could be the culprit to this problem?

Apparently the machine has no impact damage. Not be supported if damp. What seems is being in a smoky environment because the knobs are a bit yellow.
I tried even to change the button battery but the problem persists.

Maybe a good thorough internal cleaning is all that's needed if the unit has been exposed to a significant amount of smoke.

That and maybe huge amounts of dust have plagued the inside to the point where it's starting to produce errors and whatnot.

Yesterday I got a screen "fatal error" with some code to duplicate the "Multi 1. Restart the machine, went back to duplicate the "Multi 1" and repeated the "FATAL ERROR. " Tonight when I get home I put the entire code that appears.
It gets ugly

Does it have output board (multi or ?)fitted as mine does not work properly with that plugged in.Worth having another go with seating the leads ect.

No, I have the card installed outlets. I opened the machine and all was apparently well connected.
What I find most strange is that the problems only occur around MULTIS. Do not let me delete "Multi 1" will not let me duplicate, crashes when saved by a beat on the hard disk ...

can't you just change the name of the Multi you are using, saving under different name?

Elf, maybe give a shot at replacing the hard drive. Because if you get the normal akai logo and it says searching for disks when it first boots up & everything seems normal, it could very well be that your hard drive has crashed or is defective.

It looks this way since you can't retrieve, access, or store anything without this error occuring...right?

I'd give that some consideration before seeking repair service.

Tomorrow I get a new hard drive and new RAM I bought. I'll try to see if installing it solves the problem.
Looking for information found someone who was wrong and said something like that could also be due to problems with the card effects. I'll try to disconnect also to see if it can be.

remember that you can use a usb stick in the front of the machine also - don't need to use the internal drive. see if you can create a new multi and save it successfully onto usb.
