Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

Hi just trying to run the 8 channels of adat out of the 4k.I'm getting constant static noise. Sample rate the ssame at 44.1. have set the clock source to optical. Any ideas? Cheers

TBH, it's kinda hard to tell what's going on with very limited info. Could be a number of things. But not knowing what gear you're working with and how things are set up, it would be a real mind boggler for anybody.

It somewhat sounds like it could be a clock issue with another piece of gear in the chain maybe. :?

Yep, adat def has to be selected (damn, how did I forget about that?).......but would this still work even if he doesn't have a audio card that doesn't support adat?

I know my laylas won't do jack until that option is selected.

Alright - found the problem. Had upgraded to a new adat cable and the new one had to be clicked in quite forcefully - so it was a good old air gap all along. Thanks for your help all the same. But damm it still gettin clicks off the new cable
