Time Stretching - Pitch Shifting

Sup! Wondering how yall go about getting a melodic sample to fit into the melody you've already got. Is there any way to get a sample in time (say using the tuning feature), then tweak the pitch in realtime without effecting the tempo? Even if you could do it the other way around, using the Tuning to get the sample in tune, then tweaking the tempo in realtime without changing the pitch... I know there's a 'pitch corrector' effect which you can apply as a send, but there are only four sends which you'd generally want to use for reverb etc etc... Havn't quite figured out how to use the time stretch function properly so could be missing something... any pointers appreciated!
