Wich Cd-R writers are competible with MPC4k??

Can anyone tell me wich cd-writers work with the mcp4k?>
I hope i can get them cheap

All I did was grab my Liteon 48x CDR and slap that bad boy in there. Worked fine.

I did have issues with my HD that I bought. It was a 160GB drive so I just used a 120GB. make sure you set the MASTER / SLAVE settings correctly.

If you only have the CD installed then you may be fine either way. I tested with only the CD Rom and it worked when set to MASTER.

If you have a HD installed, the manual says to have the HD as MASTER and the CD as SLAVE

But you decided to send that thing back to the store already so you didnt have time to test it.

Any other models wich are known to be competible and are cheap?

Iomega makes a USB 24X for $99 at Best Buy

i got a plextor 52x! ... worx fine! well lets say it burns as many others will too! ... but not at 52x speed! imo you could also get a cheaper one!

... and i m not sure here but i think to remember that sean from akai once mentioned somewhere that teac models work fine, plextor too and some others aswell but akai testings have been done with teacs! ... no garanties here coz i thend to forget .... he dropped somethin bout it in the dps forum! ... check some threads there ...

That's funny. I did send mine back. But I had it for 3 solid days (about 40 hours of total use) and the Lite-on I used worked great.

There is a post on here somewhere that I came across when I was figuring out that the HD size limit was 127GB. It listed quite a few models that were compatible.
