Connecting Midi Keyboard to MPC 4000

Anybody know how to connect a midi keyboard to the MPC 4k...I have a Midi keyboard with one midi out...connected to the MPC's Midi in...It still will not trigger any sounds from my Keygroup program...

What am I doing wrong?

Awww hell I've had my coffee...

First, you have the MIDI cable running from the "out" of the board to your MIDI IN "A" of the MPC.

Now tap a few keys on the keyboard, while doing so look in the lower right-hand corner of the screen. You see those bars? Do you see any response on the "IN" bar? If so your good.

Now what are you trying to control? An external MIDI module or just the MPC?
