Is It Rocket Science.....

I called Rogue Music to place an order for the 8 out for my mpc 4000 and they told me they were out and they would get some more in... in a couple of days...But get this, he told me that installing the 8 out on the 4000 is much more complicated than on the 2000, so he suggested that i send my 4000 to them so they can install it for an extra fee!..........


Has anyone install it there self?....... Was it that hard, or was he pulling
my leg?

Think he was pulling your leg.. I heared some disconnected the screen cable when he installed the ADAT board.
Just be carefull when you install it!
Or take your MPC, put in in your car and drive to the shop. Stay there when they install the board and take it back with ya!

Screw that, install it yourself. those dudes at Rogue are cool. but the MPC isnt that much of a monster that you can't do it yourself.

I have installed hundreds of them. Including the Adat and Digital I/O
The big concern is that you can void your warranty. Also, if you are not careful you can fry the circuits on the boards. If you want to install it yourself I can help.

They were talking like I would have to take my 4000 apart bit by bit!..........I gotta have it cause im going with digi 002........

I been looking at some topics saying something about a clicking noise with the adat board running with digi!......Can you elaborate on this?..........

THAT COULD BE DUE TO THE FACT THAT HE HAS THE 001. I'VE NEVER HEARD OF HIS PROBLEM BEFORE SO I WAS KEEPING TABS ON A SOLUTION BECAUSE i WAS THING OF GETTING THAT SET UP MY SELF

I was looking at the musicians friends website for the 001 and it said the product has been discontinued!....Whats up with that?

just with anything else mpc2000 was replaced by the mpc200xl

I was told I would void my warranty if things **** up but that shit is soooo easy to install. the only long part is actually unscrewing the case cause theres about twenty screws. just get two small bowls cause theres
two screw sizes and then just pop each screw size in a different bowl. Open it and carefully place it inside and screw.... Sounds great....
Just be carefull not to damage any of the circuit board and you should be fine.

Yep. Pro Tools 6.4 (wich is buggy) is the last Pro Tools for the 001.. Digidesign wont support it anymore. Its on the Digidesign website.

I hardly believe that a 001 with an MPC does nt work.. (tip: 001 = max. 24bits, 48000hz)
