"Instant" Track Mute/Un-Mute

I know I'm gonna seem like such a nooblet but, over in the 5000 threads (before you start... I know, I know) there was a thread about instant track un-mute that caused the muted track to unmute instantly without having to wait until the beginning of the sequence, much like a HDD recorder

I know at this point the 4k needs to have the sample re-triggered to un-mute a sample.

Is this possible on the 4k? Because a have a few NASTY loops that would love this treatment.

Not quite sure what youre trying to do, but there is a track mute button right next to the F sound bank button.

I understand how the track mute works...

Look at it like this...

You have one sample (a break) playing on Track 1 for 8 bars. Perfectly chopped and looped!
If you hit the track mute to mute that track the loop mutes, right..?
But if you turn the track mute off, the break won't start again till the beginning of the sequence.
That's how it is right now.

I want to know if there is a different way to get the break to continue playing after un-muting the track mid-sequence.

EDIT: I accidently a word...

I get it..but the only way that really happens is if the sample isn't chopped and its sequenced as one long sustained note.

You gotta chop the sample into pieces and spread 'em across multiple pads then sequence it.

Because if its done like that..when you un-mute the track, it going to trigger the next note or pad of that sequence..If its one long sustained note, it wont trigger the sample until the sequence loops again.

you dont want reaslly track mute, you want sound mute.. with sound mute, everything would still be playing, and unmuting would give sound back instantly.. not sure if you can do this smoothly and on the go.. but you could always record fades in the mpc's internal mixer to quickly fade sound in and out.. if done well it would pretty much come out as if you pressed a mute button.. and maybe there is mute buttons in the actuall mixer that you can record and swittch on/off.. never checked really
