Drum Grid/Matrix Editor: number of blocks when T/C is off

We know that Timing Correct (T/C) sets the resolution of the Drum Grid Editor of MPCs that have them (MPC 1000, 2500, 4000, and 5000). When T/C is set to 1/4, there are 4 grid blocks in a measure; T/C set to 1/8, there are 8 grid blocks in a measure; T/C set to 1/16, there are 16 grid blocks in a measure, etc., thus giving you one grid block for each step in the sequencer.

When T/C is turned off, how many grid blocks does the MPC 4000 show in a measure? I assume it will show 960 grid blocks (displayed over several pages) for each measure. Is this accurate?

This is what I expected. But this behavior was modified with the MPC 5000. The 5K won't show all 960 blocks.
