Need max RAM, Hard drive & else!

1) HARD DRIVE

AKAI website recommend's ST3802110A for hard drive. They're going for pretty cheap on ebay, most seem to be second hand. Is there any risk of these damaging my 4k?

2) RAM

Which model of RAM will I need? Looking to go 512MB.

3) CD-RW / Zip ?

Zip I'm not bothered with. Can I install anything else other than CD-RW and/or Zip? Also what are the benefits of having CD-RW over 16GB USB stick?

the hard disk cannot damage your mpc...however youre takin a risk by buying second hand hard disk...you dont know what its been thru and how reliable can be...it can work for years to come or crash within days or months and loose all your work

7200 RPM
2MB Cache
IDE
Ultra ATA100 / ATA-6
3.5" in internal
Find any other hdd with these specs and it will work.

No it's a serious inquiry. What can I load/store on CD that I can't load/save on a USB stick?

Forget the CDRW unless you have a bunch of original Akai CD Roms.
USB stick is far superior for transferring sounds from a computer and backing up etc.
