Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

As Q-link functions are per part (which corresponds to a given program in a multi) the knobs and sliders only give control over whole drum programs or key groups.

For example: I assign Q1 to part one pitch (lets say pt 1 is a drum program in multi 1) but I don't want to alter the pitches of certain instruments in the dr pgm.

Is there a way to remove individual drum pads (or individual sounds in a key grp) from this Q-link assignment?

Already looked into it. In seq edit and step edit q-link event is an option in the view menu, you can edit q-link events (overdubbed q-link recordings) individually but not specific pads/notes/sounds within a part/program.

Unless I am missing something the way to do it is to copy a program and rearrange tracks accordingly. Not a big deal and this method gives you more control over the multi so I suppose that is the way it works.

Just thought it would make a useful arrangement for sketching ideas.
