Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

I just purchased the MPC4G a little while ago. Yes, i'm a newbie and damn proud of it....hey, we all had to start somewhere. :D
I know there's a new OS upgrade available, but was wondering if my version 1.13 that the 4000 came with is still ok to rock.
I'm kinda new to the MPC family due to only using software to record scratch tracks / mixes. I've messed with my homie's 2000xl and found it very easy to use. But, given the oppurtunity to buy a 4000 for the price of a 2000xl...I jumped at the chance and have been overwhelmed by the endless features the 4G has.
How do I go about downloading the new OS version and applying to my 4G?
I've been roaming around this site and it rocks!
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Peace...

Download the 1.51 original and the manual to your computer. Check the Newbie bible. If you have a CD or usb stick save the O.S. there load it into the MPC and press do it. Make use that if you have any sequences premade backup and your in the house. If you feel that you are ready go for the beta 1.52c which includes the auditon features.

Hi clenzroc, welcome.

You can download everything you need from here:
http://www.akaipro.com/int/download/index.html

I bet most information you need can be found here on this forum, if you search for it. As Blue Haze already wrote, also read the newbe section and the sticky note on top of all messages in the mpc4000 section. Must get you started in no time... If despite your efforts you still can't find a topic, post it. Have fun!

Cheers!
