using recycle with a mac and mpc.

hello all,

just a quick one: I don't use scsi but trim and edit my samples in the computer.

I want to know if the mpc accepts rex files. eg, if I have a loop and
chop it up in recycle, save the file, can I dump the rex file onto the mpc
using aksys and have all the beats chopped up and on different pads?

this would save a lot of time....

this is using recycle 2.0 on mac os9

no, but you can export em as wav's in recycle.

When you export regions set the file as a Akai S6000 file and you will have no problem exporting to the MPC 4000 chopped up and sequenced for ya too. However the file will be a keygroup program mapped out chronically like a regular sampler would with keys. You will have to convert to a drum program if you want to play it like in the past. Another thing in you are using other mpcs you have to save as a wav file like descry said. I hope it helps. I have recycle and far timestetching and pitch it can`t be beat. But i prefer to chop on the MPC and section sound because I can work a little faster and more precise by ear. Recycle can slice too thin for me sometimes but to each his own. Have fun use recycle with aksys 2.61 for exporting and importing.

So you can choose the format that you export from recycle????

if it is chopped up, does it create separate wavs that you dump to the mpc via aksys????? or is it one file.... sorry i havn't got recycle, i'm just wondering if it is a good idea to get it....

You can do both and yes it would be a great investment tool to have with your production.

download the manual it is a excellent tool to have.
