Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

FIRST I WANNA THANK EVERYONE ON THE FORUM FOR THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE. OK I NEED HELP ON THIS.
I HAVE AN AKAI MPC4000 , THE WEIRD LOUD NOISE I AM HEARING HAS TO BE THE HARD DRIVE. I ONLY HAVE A SOON TO BE 5 YEAR OLD MAC BOOK PRO BUT I DO NOT HAVE A COMPUTER AT ALL. DO I HAVE TO FORMAT THE NEW INTERNAL DRIVE WHEN I BUY IT IN A PC ONLY OR CAN IT BE DONE ON A LAPTOP LIKE MINE? SEAGATE IS THE INTERNAL DRIVE RECOMMENDED, BUT WILL A WD BE JUST AS GOOD? I READ THAT FORMATTING THE DRIVE IN THE PC FIRST WILL GIVE YOU MORE SPACE ON IT, BEFORE YOU INSTALL IT IN THE MPC4K AS TO JUST FORMATTING THE NEW DRIVE IN THE MPC AND I AM LOOKING TO BUY A 250GB AT LEAST AND I WOULD LIKE TO GET THE WHOLE SPACE AND NOT JUST ONE TWENTY SOMETHING GB LIKE I READ SOME PEOPLE SAID THEY GOT AFTER THEY FORMATTED THEIR DRIVE. :| :|

First up, dont post the same issue twice, your thread will become a candidate for the lock.

Secondly, as in your other thread, you were kindly asked not to type in all caps. If you continue to do so your threads will become candidates for the lock.

Finally, your questions about HD formatting are well documented here..

So, there is no need for this thread.

Have a nice day.
