Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

Anyone have an oscilloscope or a tuner that can display HZ?? or knows what the ratio between fine tune and HZ in Akai translates to?..

I always use my ears to tune and I sample vinyl, but I also have a ton of samples in standard tuning A=440HZ from all over and for mystical reasons I want to know how many fine tune decrements I need to tune a standard sample from A=440HZ to A=432HZ

Thx!

 Thank you for the response m56p87 ..

Yhea I´m not just buying into it I´m believing it ... when I tune things to 432 the sound more natural and smother, while 440 is more tense/stressful.

We are so use to 440 that at first after tuning some of my established modular grooves from 440 to 432 I was a bit hesitant on if it was better as I had designed the grooves originally in/as 440 but after listening to the grooves for sometime and creating new riffs in 432 it became quite obvious that 432 is a natural and peaceful state.. and I challenge anyone to do the same... just cheek this for yourself.. your music will have a much more pleasant vibe..

So that´s my own persona observation... I don´t need anyone to tell me anything I have ears, I can feel, I am human .. but here´s the theoretical take on the whole subject as I´ve researched this quite a bit and here are beans..

Everything in creation follows a pattern sometimes called the finger print of good or the flower of life, and when I say everything I mean everything from alinements in galaxies to a flower in the ground,... reason for this is everything in life is a frequency. Within a spectrum of frequencies the color red is just a lower frequency than the color blue for example.. Yes Neo the matrix is real..

The flower of life is a structure that can is created regardless to the form of measurement. Many argue that numbers are arbitrary and ways of measurements are something humans came up with but they fail to see origins and thus the bigger picture. That is: the true origins is a code based on the cycling system of the stars. The system uses conventions that are still in use today, such as the 360 degree circle, 60 minute degree, 60 second minute, the base-ten numbering system, the 12-inch foot, and the 5280-foot mile. This is what Pythagoras (the infamous Greek mathematician/astrologist) called the Harmony of the Spheres which is referring to mathematical ratios which are the same as musical intervals are found in the distance, size and movement of the planets and thus it can be said that the fundamental principal of creation is founded on the understanding of harmony in music and/or vice versa.

We eve base our measurement of time on this code and throughout history there is evidence of this. For example the Egyptians and Japanese had constant daylight/night time hours (12 day/12 night and 6 day/6 night respectively) but they used a 28 Hour Days. Under the 28 Hour Day system, the current week would remain at exactly 168 hours. (24x7=168) However, this 168 hour period would be divided into six 28-hour days rather than 7 24-hour days.. Two different methods calculating the same code..

It´s a systematic and universal. If anyone is in doubt that we base our time on astrology please think> sundial. Now white lab cotes later defined seconds by using mechanical, electric or atomic clocks.... but they could have simply rounded the number of the square root of light (432) and divided that with our master clock, the BigBen of clocks = 1 cycle of the Equinox 26000 years >> 26000 divided by 432 = 60 .. so 432 is related to our preservation of time

and just for fun; add to this biblical some context; in holy books its stated: ´´we are the light´´ and its been concluded/proven that a visual geometry image of the 432 tone is in the same shape as the smallest plutonic solid that represents a single pulse of light... coincidental?

Now some historical facts about our Tuning scale

Our old tuning standard arrives from the ancient cultures (Greeks and Egyptians) the scale is refereed to as Pythagoras tuning scale (Pythagoras was around in the sixth century BC). These cultures not only based their music scales on this system but also their architecture of their most sacred sites and these sacred sites are located on the power grid of the earth which is also based on this code (often refereed to as sacred geometry.

While we are on the topic of planets; the earth has a tone; we can´t hear this tone since our range is limited to 20Hz-20KHz but this tone is always there: it fluctuates a bit but is between 7.8-8 HZ now if you tune this tone via prefect fifths (which also refers to the universal phenomenon> Fibonacci spiral) you´ll end in up in harmony with the old Pythagoras scale (8Hz is the twenty-seventh undertone Do (C) of the tuning to 432Hz, the multiplication of 8 cycles gives 432) so when you tune to 432 your in harmony with mother nature/ mother earth ...

In late 1700´s whites first started to experimenting with using sound frequencies for healing, they where using the frequency (take a wild crazy guess) of 432!! Now what where the basis for that? and still to this day we use this frequency and its harmonious frequencies when using sound as healing medium. (there are also theories that the Egyptian used sound frequencies for healing, just another lost knowledge)..

Now back on history
Interestingly; the 1938-1939 German Expedition to Tibet was to find out the origins of the Arian race .. the Tibetans also lived by the same code and tuned their instruments to 432,. we where getting heavily interested in this in the late 1800 and early 1900 but then came war´s and this field of science lost momentum and after WW2 most of this is been regarded has placebo science.

Now before WW2 and after research on frequencies and humans, the first effort to institutionalize A=440 was in a conference organized by Joseph Goebbels in 1939 (Hitlers right hand man) and they requested that the British Standards Institute (BSI) adopted the A=440H standard which they temporally did just before war. The decision to raise the pitch was taken without consult and against musicians wishes. The outbreak of war, did not last, so A=440 did not stick as a standard pitch.

A second congress in London of the International Standardizing Organization met in October 1953, again attempt to impose A=440 internationally. This conference passed such a resolution; again no Continental musicians who opposed the rise in pitch were invited, and the resolution was widely ignored...

Now to understand the mystical aspect of this you need to have an understanding of ether what it is and how it works and communicates (technically ether is a class of organic compounds in which two hydrocarbon groups are linked by an oxygen atom) but to put it in understandable terms this is the name given to a discovery that physics came up with when they finally reached the conclusion that consciousness was affecting physic experiments... and its quite a long topic, but it boils all down to we are all connected though electromagnetic fields, and sound is one of our greatest dimensional vibration ... this is why music can communicate emotions.

You send out frequencies, your emotions are frequencies, your heart sends frequencies, your brain sends frequencies sometimes referred to as brain waves.. these frequencies can be recorded created sent and received. Water has memory cells, there are 44.000 information panels on each cell that can reconstruct these emotions .. yes your thought are recorded in water you are (dependent on body) 50 to 80 % water, your brain is 80% water.. and sound resonates water. Now if you quick freeze/ take a picture of water that was recorded though a tonal scale of 432 and look at water crystals , the crystal are in pure geometric shapes when tuned to 432hz vs 440hz, and in my conclusions will thereof communicate at greater amplification. Crystal have the means to store and communicate information and one of their main element of function is amplification. don´t believe this: note; that crystals are used in cell phones and computers for this very purpose... Crystals
amplify sound waves in a radio and light waves in television.

Then there´s our chakra system, but you chakra system is based on the same frequency matrix. Your heart chakra is 528hz and 528hz is a harmonic codex of the Solfeggio tones 852hz and 285Hz. 440hz does not allow for this frequency to happen..

geez that was a rant ... but I feel this is critical knowledge to any musician.

so Neo .. take your pick

A=440 (Blue pill)
*Its standardization was forced by a group that had nothing to do with music (Rockefeller Foundation and US Navy funding for militarizing music)
*it only carries 8 of the 12 overtones
*it does not produce the 528hz frequency ..yet does produce something called the devils interval

A=432Hz (Red pill)
*In sync with the frequency spectrum of the universe, Cycle of the equinox, Flower of life, Earth frequency, Speed of light...list goes on and on.. basically in´s in harmony with the frequency spectrum of the universe.
*History of the ancient spiritual cultures
*Healing powers (heart chakra/love)
*Overtones (full 12 overtones)

you could from a superficial perspective say these are only tuning scales.. and this is al big mubo jumbo,.. but why would large foundations and a military establishments put so much pressure on changing our tuning scales ...?? .... but again the greatest proof is just try this for yourself ...

The only conspiracy here is your reality

Damn man! That's some deep stuff.

That was a nice read, I think I'm going to have to do some research about it…it sort of fits in with how I have been perceiving a lot of things of late. Thanks for that. :-D

JJOSXL got a pitch tab allowing you to detune your 440hz-tuned samples to the natural pitch. It's called PITCH, indeed. Do it from there because it allows you to detune the referring diapason from 440 to 432 without knowing the sample key. Do it for your "standard" samples and leave the rest in natural tuning. I guess it would be easier than knowing the key and calculating the shift normalized to 100.

I've had this discussion on the reason forum so I don't want to entirely rehash it. But I can understand your curiosity, just know that specifically to that forum no one used it that long and remained enthralled with it. I think personallity it's more a mental thing rather than actually turning a mess into a beautiful harmonious orgy.

But i haven't messed with it, just for the reason that I don't want to make a few albums with 432 only to stop caring, give up, and revert back to 440 later on. But that's just me personally. The only exposure I've had to 432 is others putting tracks up some at 432, others at 440. What I found was that if you were playing one instrument like a nice dreamy synth, it did add some amount of clarity and harmony that 440 didn't inherently have. But unfortunately all that was lost when you made an entire track. Also Future music/ or somebody similar did an entire article debunking the whole 432 natural life vibrations stuff, and it didn't make a difference during music production.

Besides I'd rather made music with the devil instead  would love to hear some examples if you have any?

Well,.. its not about turning anything into a mess of harmonious orgy's, .. its more about the impact of synchronized frequency spectrum vs UN-syncronized frequency spectrum (this is the reason 440 only reaches 8 overtones instead of the full 12 overtones) 432 has a more powerfull signal and the mystical aspect is the message that carries through that signal ... this should be enough reason on its own regardless of your believes in the mystical aspects

limiting yourself to one form of tuning is not a good thing... but you seam to feel strongly about 440.. what are your reasons for using 440?

I tried to find that FM article without luck, do you have a link to it? I´d love to give it a read and I´d be careful about believing major media publish in any form, FM is a money whore,.. they´ve give a zhitty synth a rave review because that same company is spending large funds on advertizements...

Now all the shit that´s wrong in the world> like we have free energy devices, yet we use dated explosive power technology in our daily lives; we put oil on our cars and shoot tin cans into orbit using fuel, yet we had discovers ´0 point energy´ in the 1940´s ..another thought >hemp is one of the planets greatest resource (we can make anything out of it! yet the cover story is >banned as its a drug, (think large industries plastic, oil, paper, cotton) and the list goes on &on&on

If you know nothing of this then 911 is a good place to start> buildings falling down in free-fall, ashes full of nano-thermite (military grade explosives) anthrax traced to us-military base.. how about the pentagon; a planes with wing spans much larger than the hole in the pentagon?? vaporizing into thin air due to the heat of the fuel and no bodies??...threre are 1000´s of experts: physics, architecture experts, former air force personnel etc...that have given statements on the impossibilities of the official story think that´s more like tens of thousand .. yet the main stream media keeps their mouth shut ?? ..911 is as obvious as night and day .... now you are free believe them if you want to.. but I am trying to bring up the point that if your basis for 440 is: that its the standard, please realize its a standard set by people following this agenda..

I think you mistook my stance.. I'm not a heavy supporter of 440 Hz I just dont care. it would bother me mentally to make a few albums with it only to inevibly give up on it. I try to keep my workflow as streamlined as possible, and I know myself as artist. Im not saying your the same way but for myself I have little infatuations with techniques like this along the way only to abandon them after a while, and then I regret doing it altogether. For myself it's simply not an important part of the puzzle, I take samples from everywhere make patterns.

Not trying to undermine your opinion, just stating that I'm keeping it simple and just working with what sounds are in front of me. Except for audio coloring, I don't like to come up with techniques that call for me to adjust every sample to the same setting. Just how my brains works. I personally feel it wouldn't add anything to my music, but to each his own. If it empowers you as an artist then go for it, just like if it empowers me not to do it.

I'm on my iPad, so after I post this i will go look for the article and edit this post after I find it. As far as all the 911 electronics stuff, don't really see the connection nor would I believe it if you made it I. If we could keep this on a musical level I could definitely keep talking about this though. Always an interesting discussion.

Thanks for keeping it on the level mate! ..I didn´t mean to go so far off topic but it´s a necessary point of view to understand where this is all coming from ... although I want to keep this on tuning,...

now this might be a microscopic thing that essentially doesn´t do anything to you in a few hours or days, even months .... but think of this: music is playing everywhere: clubs, cd´s/ipods, cafe/restaurant, Internets, in the car, on Tv and in your gym ..you name its everywhere, bombarding our daily lives 24/7 all year around ...

add this to your lifespan 80 years give or take = this micro tuning is starting to impact our lives quite greatly...

Now turn on the Radio ... (of course its opinion based) but the mainstream is 90% irritating crap and (maybe just crap is was tuned right ;) .. and you are likely to hear someone like Brian Adam sing about the summer of 69 now this has little to do with the music and much to do with business.. the industry is just plain sick.. just look at MTV and watch and listen to Lady Gaga .. common this is all wrong.. music is much more than this it has great powers that has been forgotten and is neglected in our everyday life....& largely do to the lack of knowledge my brother.

is tuning from 440 to 432 in the 1k the same as in the 4ooo = - 5 centitones? can JJOS display in hz??

Diapason frequency is expressed in HZ in the JJOSXL PITCH screen, I confirm.

Someone hasn´t been drinking his soya milk.. ;)

whats the problem bro .. not keeping up with world science lately .. nothing to do with nu-age .. allot more to do with collision of lost knowledge vs modern discoveries and the fact that the fabric you called reality has been greatly manipulated..

got access to a large system, precises high grade tunable OSC and some mushrooms?

Hello,
I have 2 questions regarding this subject:

1. Is all the music before and right after WW2 in this 432 Hz?

2. I dont understand what you have to do to get samples in 432 HZ. Pitch them 5 centitones down? What does that mean? Zone pitch the sample to -00.05?

Thanks and peace!

BTW Interesting story, makes a lot of sense that the industry wants to distort this ancient knowledge.
