Filters are good. Pads are decent. FX are poor.
though mpc4000 sounds very good. Very good convertors.
Nice graphical sequencer.
Big screen, lots of MIDI in/out, etc...
Too many good stuff to name here.

Accept the deal!!! :D

The 4000 is very intuitive, but like like ikke says the effects arent all that great. I never use the effects anyway, because I like to add them in the mixing process. Once you learn how to set up your Multi to work from then everything else is a breeze. I was already banging out tracks for weeks before I even cracked open the manual.

I personally, find it a more intuitive interface then the 2000XL. It's
nice having the dedicated button per function (load, save, multi, main, program, sample). Also the graphical display of the sequenced
events (both Drum Grid and Piano Roll) gives insight into your sequences.
If you don't mind the additional size, then I would say go for it.

I've never used the XL personally but I have a friend that uses one and everytime he's making a song or just messing around with samples, I get frustrated, because you have to push much more buttons, on the XL compared to the 4K, to get the job done.
