table question

i thought i read this in another topic but now i can't find it.
i've been looking at supersonica's tutorial for the 4000 and i only see one pair of phono outputs. how do you get a turntable mixer hooked up to so you can incorporate the fader?

I'm copping my 4000 in a week or 2 some i am trying to learn as much as i can first so that the manual is in a language i can understand.

If you are buying a 4000 before you even know how to hook up a mixer, then the 4000 is way out of your league dude. I'm not trying to be an ****, but seriously man, get yourself a book on basic audio engineering before you start posting questions like that on this forum. Until you understand the basics, you will never fully grasp what the 4000 can do. You dont seem ready for this machine. Stick to software sampler/sequencers.....check out 'Reason'. Your money will be better spent on a computer and some software that will esentially do the same and more than the 4000. Until you really know why you should get a 4000, you shouldnt bother.

BTW, there are no phono outputs on the 4000.

anyways b-boy, first off those phono outputs you talkin about are INPUTS, second this is how I have my set up:

record player outputs to the mixer, then from the mixer line out to the the mpc's record in mic/line input....make sure that the input select switch is to line...that easy

First off, I said I was not tryin to be an ****. Second, he (BAB) does not even have a 4000 yet. Third, I gave him recomendations for better ways (in my opinion) for him to spend the same $$$. If thats what you consider being a 'dick' then I wish someone had been a 'dick' to me when I first started out.

earth, I'm sayin......all you had to do was just answer his question and at the same time schooled him on the error of his ways. and about recommending other options, that's all gravy...but how do you know he even knows how to move around on a computer like that other than to ask questions on a forum where cats know what's up about something he's lookin into gettin? Nah, you know what Earth was being honest. B.A.B. wasn't even getting flamed as far as I am concerned. For reals look. If you want to figure out how to plug sh*t into a DJ mixer, why ask about it in a MPC 4000 forum??? I mean I understand where BAB is coming from it's good to wander in here and learn about gear but for reals, just chill back, read a little bit and learn. Go to Future Producers and ask all the little questions you need to get your home set up going. When you rock a 4000, get in here and ask and it's probably helpful to many heads, cuz other cats have the same questions but you gotto be at least a little responsible in here because this for is for MPC Heads nothing else. If every Tom Dick and Joe came in here asking dumb little questions how useful is the forum going to be? We shouldn't attack someone for a question but setting the record straight is the right way to answer sometimes. It's our responsibility to cut out the bullsh*t and if your feelings get hurt then you should check yourself because we do not flame people in here just to flame them. There are plenty of jack@ss sites for that type of behaviour. If you don't keep your own house clean, then who is going to?
B.A.B. go to futureproducers.com there are all types of great studio tips for every imaginable subject you can think of and MPC HEADS won't F**k with you there, unless of course you run into me again..lol. but for reals kid get going on your music and Earth gave you some divine wisdom, i gotta second that emotion, I think you are Way in over your head with this MPC 4k thing unless you were just joking about the turntable to mixer setup. I mean come on now.
and Bump please understand this forum does not need to be a politically correct soapbox for anyone to perch on. We are in this room to learn more about the 4k and the world revolving around it. New Jacks need to respect that. I'm still fairly new in this joint and I gotta give credit where it's due. So until you start bringin the crazy knowledge respect the way that we work.

I dont claim to be a 5 star General with the 4000. I first came to this forum to try to get some basic questions answered when I first got the 4000. I did get some help, but there wasnt many headz with 4000's back then. So now that I have a good grasp on the 4000, I come here to try to help others out. I dont claim to know everything there is to know about this machine, but like I said, I've got a good grasp of it. I dont come in here tryin to cause beef with anyone. This is an internet forum....I dont know anyone here personally, I dont know what anyone looks like or their real name or age. So sometimes its hard to know if someone is for real or just a wannabe. I did not know that BAB's post was a typo. Seriously though, dont be gettin your feelings hurt over stupid shiz. If you ask a question, make sure its a question that is worth answering. This forum is no replacment for basic engineering knowlege. I went to school for this shiz... the least headz can do is get a book on basic audio engineering before posting questions like: Whats the difference between a ballanced and unballanced cable?..Whats the difference between Phono, Line, and Mic inputs?...etc. Theres nothing wrong with not knowing the answers to these questions, but at least post those in the "MPC Studio Environments" or "Production Techniques" forums. This forum is susposed to be about the MPC 4000. Sorry for all the fuss. BAB, no need to change your name....
