sending a beat to protools from mpc ?

can some one tell wats the best way to get a beat from the mpc4000 to protools on seperate tracks,and have the beat sound the same with out having to do adjustments on protools? also wats best to save the beats protools or aksys?

The best way is to slave the 4000 to pro tools using midi clock.....If you don't have the 8 outs you can only record 2 tracks at a time!...... As far as saving beats I always saving them in pro tools....I don't even use aksys anymore.....! Pro tools gives me all the flexibility I need to work with my music.......

Unless you have the 8-out you'll have to track it one part at a time. Or at most two mono parts at a time I, for example, have the ADAT card which can send 4 stereo parts or 8 mono parts in addition to the two main outs.

If you don't have the IB-48P, or IB-4D or -4ADT, it will be one part at a time. In order to keep the levels good, make sure you adjust it well in the MPC and make sure all your meters are even in PT, so your adjustments are minimal. You can't enitrely get away from having to adjust levels.

Cable length, the type of interface (001 or 002), type of computer, electrical, etc., etc. all contribute to sound level.

Save your files as pro tools sessions.
