I had the black fatty's on my 1000 & i did not like them, i went back to the regular black ones, maybe somebody can tell if there is any difference, as they are two different machines.
If you didn't dig the 1000 ones you probably would not like the standard square fat sheets.
The standard ones are really rigid, to the point that people have looked for ways to soften them.
I like the 1000 ones, I only need one finger and they respond well to light taps. But I 'm OK with playing pads with lighter hits. The standard 1000 pad sheet required me to press too hard a lot. But everyone's style differs.
Also I have JJOS2XL on the 1000, which has deeper sensitivity pad settings. But if you had the fat ones well calibrated and they didn't jive with your playing style (we all differ a bit usually) I don't think you'd like the standard fat ones. I only have them in an MPD32 here, as those MPD's are god awful with out a pad fix (tape/silicone on bottom or Fat replacements).
I agree the 4000 standard ones don't respond quite as well as my XL or 2500, but it's not too bad, noticeable though.
But again, the rigidity of the square sets bothered a lot of users, on MPD's, XL's, 2500's, so 4K with fat ones would probably follow suit.
