AkaiSys is a computer program that allows you to drop sounds into your 4000, arrange programs, tweak filters, etc directly from your computer. All you need is a USB cable hooked up from the 4000 to your computer. It makes loading sounds much easier if you have a big library of .wav files on your computer that you want to put on your 4000. Without AkaiSys, you have to burn your .wav files to a CD and then load them into the 4000 from the CD. Give it a shot. Mac or PC will work, you just need a USB connection on your computer. You can download AkaiSys software at akaipro.com ... go to the downloads page.

also that Ak.sys will allow you to use a dedicated software waveform editing program on the full screen of your computer. take advantage of it. Right now I got my MPC 4000 and my Titanium powerbook locked up and sh*ts lovely.
