Officially a 4K owner

Just thought I'd share (brag a little) and say I finally got my hands on a 4000. I've had less then a day w/ it and I'm amazed/impressed! As Im going through the manual, I keep catching myself saying "This is f#cking awesome!!". I've been a very happy 2KXL owner (still am) for the past 2.5 years and this sudden jump was spontaneous, I had some extra cash to burn so I figured I get my hands on one of these bad boys and let me tell you, what a decision that was. I'm still trying wrap my brain around it but the things Ive figured out so far got me excited to work on this beast! This machine is truly ahead of its time, I'm happy to say that I am a new and proud 4000 owner
Hopefully I can learn enough about this machine to contribute but yea Im excited.

Yeah man it is incredible they dropped that machine in 2002.

Congratulations Itskurisu, even if you only use 25% of the machine it's still a joy with all the features and ways it lifts a lot of limits from earlier machines. It took JJ 5 OS's to implement a lot of what a 4k does and 4k still comes out ahead as a full keygroup sampler.

Hell, I got my $700 worth just being able to use 24 bit/96kHz samples.

Exactly! I love that, & I think that's why leaned towards the 4000., the fact that its still so relevant in todays standards. It sounds amazing too idk if I'm fooling myself but I believe I can hear the difference between the 2kxl & the 4k. I'm in love with it already can't wait to see what I can do with it.

Wait until you get into the Aksys Pad Editor, and grab a copy of Recycle while you're at it. You will have an orgasm!!!

The MPC 4000 sound is amazing. I went from a 2500 to a 4k and noticed the difference in sound immediately.

Same for me up until a few months ago. I bought a new HDD for my PC and said "F it" and installed VmWare for Win XP on my new Win7 64-bit system. Aksys is still shitty but I like being able to chop then drag and drop samples to pads in realtime. Recycle's AKP export option just made it even sweeter.

I'm just waiting on BeatClever to add AKP exports w/midi and Recycle is out too.

I think Clint did a tutorial on that somewhere here. Op needs to check that out, maybe the 4k bible thread if I remember correctly.

Yeah that 'Round Robin' tutorial is one of the more recent posts in the Bible thread. If you're not using the Q-links or the Mod Matrix on an MPC4000, you are missing out on some good stuff. It may take you a few years to get there unless you're on a mission to explore the full potential of the machine.
