Tricky one : MPC4000 in sync + Virtual instruments ?

Hi all

let's say i made a drum sequence in the MPC and want to use it so it's the master in sync with a software sequencer (ie Digital Performer) via mtc or mmc.
can i still use DP to record virtual instruments in midi in coordination with the MPC being in master ?
Sorry for my english it's not that good and i don't know if i'm clear enough but if someone understand my question you're more tha welcome !
