MPC 4000 metronome?

Will the MPC 4000 allow the metronome to play at whatever tempo you choose while you sample?I am asking cause I am thinking of diffrent ways to use the 4000 to sample.I have picked up the guitar as a production tool and I would like to play the guitar while the MPC is playing the metronome and recording.

did exactly the same thing yesterday - playin only the metronome whilst jamin with the guitar - worx great imo
