is there an option on the 4k to set soft thru (midi thru) on and off?

example: i wanna record midievents from my external synth (module with keys) on my 4k seq. midi connections: 4k out a is connected to module's in (to trigger notes there), and modules out is connected to 4k in I (to record events on the 4k).

now if i send midievents from my module to the 4k notes are played multiple times at my module (they loop ie midievents get sended to module than back to 4k than back to module ...) this suxs especially if i wanna record arpeggiator events from my module on my 4k - it always turns out in a crash - ... to avoid it currently therefore i usually change out a to part somethin whilst recording, but it would be great to have a midi setting (mdid thru off) applied once that directs incoming data to the track (for recording) without sending it straight back to my module ...

how do guys get around it? any better ways than what i m currently doin?

any help is much appreciated ...

Usually, your module should have a "Local OFF" option so that it only sends MIDI events to its MIDI out, but not to its internal sounds.

thanx sean.

yes it has - ... but that way the module can only be triggered over the 4k and since i m sessioning with some friends at times i wanted to solve the problem in the 4k (to be able to trigger sounds within the 4k with pads and at the same time play the module with its keys, and if necessary quickly record its notes in the 4k without having to plug/unplug midicables or change track outs ...) anyhow, thanx and gonna try it ...
