Studio Setup

hello this is my first form , i was just wondering because i see alot of 2000xl"s set up with mixers , what is the purpose of that , should i get one for the 4000? .... thanks!

should you get a mixer? maybe. we'll need more info.

does your mpc have the 8 out card? as lampdog mentioned, all of the routing, panning, levels and internal effects sends can be handled in the machine.
