Playin' 2000 beats on the 4000

Ayo, i just started playin' my old 2k beats on the 4k and like 3 outta 4 of'em the samples are playin' at different speeds. How can i get back my original sample speeds back, or do I just need to re-find the speed manually?
This doesn't seem like an upgrade, sun!

Anybody else have this happen?

At least you got them to play... I can't load APS files for sh!t...

Damn sun, sorry to hear that. i thought i had it bad 'cause i had to adjust my speeds and what not.

Did you use 16 levels?

!6 levels on the 2k or the 4k?

I tried to do it with the 4k and still ended up having to tweak the speed of my samples anyway.

i tied it too loadin my 4000 samplz and had the same story as u only the wav filez are loaded and the programs dont work.but i heard from a friend
he converted the 4000 samplz for 2000 use..so if i know more ill tell u..aaaight...

I did some beats with the 16 levels on the 2k and like 1 outta 3 played regular. I thought that was the problem, but even the ones that I just adjusted the pitch and stuff (no 16'ing) they came out phukked up too.

Fellas, it just seems that we're either gonna scratch those old beats, or painstakingly take the time to RE-ADJUST the sounds of our old 2k samples.
I half heartedly wanna say PHUK IT! but I kinda love some of my old tracks.

My programs loaded up fine along with my sounds I haven't had any of those problems. Are you loading from the scsi? What type of device are you usin', I have a jaz drive and for real that medium sucks for long term storage.

this is the one thing that makes me hesitant about buying a 4000, cause i'm gonna have to get rid of my 2000xl to do it and i don't wanna lose all the shit i've made.

If you made a beat on a prior mpc with 16 levels, you gotta go to step

edit and scroll through the entire seq. I don't know why but it will play

right if you do this.

Yeah... my situation sucks... I haven't tried to see if I can make them load correctly (after my first effort)... basically I have about 50+ zip disk fulla 2000 beats... back then, I saved only using APS files... I never really saved programs individually (I just hit APS kinda like saving entire memory to disk)... basically... I just loaded and saved all my sounds/samples to the HD and made programs using them as sound libraries... I figured I'd just come back to them oneday... I still dont know what I need to do as a workaround... some of the joints were tracked out to my 2480, and some are saved as Protools sessions (but the majority are on disk, and my old 2000 is fried)... any ideas on what I'm doing wrong... the messed up thing is I have a few joints from the past that are being shopped and a few I've had to recreate... I dont even wanna get into the 300 plus floppies I have for my SP1200... I've neglected that machine for years and need to reviste some of my mid 90's heat....

Ayo B-Finsta, I feel your pain. But I NEVER saved my sounds as APS. Mainly because I just felt a lil' mo' comfy with my PGM files. If your 2k wasn't fried I'd say open'em up in that then RE-save'em as PGMs. None of your peeps have a 2k?
I'm in the midsts of gettin' mine fixed. I'm contimplatin' whether I'm gonna sell it or keep it after my Shyt is fixed.
