Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000
By dustymaestro Sun Mar 30, 2014 6:58 pm
I want to take a bunch of single cycle waveforms and loop them automatically. Can the 4 do this?

I got this single cycle waveform pack. It works in the 4000, its just tedious going in there and looping everyone of them manually. There are 25000 of them. :WTF:
But now I have a whole new sound library!

Its 39 usd.

I was going to ask you. Whats up bruh!

Thanks again for the recommendation for the wavetables.

I have a strong hip hop-reggae-jazz-rnb-rock-funk influence. Lately thats been coming out in the form of synthesis. Ill post some tracks on the weekend, not quite mixed yet. But youll get the picture.

Are you comparing yourself to him? Big shoes to fill.

Just messing with you. lol Keep rockin'

Ian

Ian, now I remember. "Be like water". You have a point, saying, "Bruce Lee…"

yo yo homey

are you interested in drum n bass or dubstep ...or are you a h8r? :fku:

i discovered the wavetable collection not too long ago and it works with any hardware sampler or rudimentary sample playback device. it spiced up some boring ipad apps and i decided to try it with my mpcs. they sing now and i dont mind the sound of the filters honestly. if i want exotic filters ill buy them separate. cant have everything. if you use what you have creatively it will get the point across. the spiritual content of music is what everybody is after anyway.

good thing there is a layering capacity in the mpc architecture. to layer a few of these can allow more interesting textures.

Well fire away, show us how dnb and dubstep sound.

I like dubstep, the slow tempo, the wobbles. I wish you could of heard my dubtep tracks on the Tempest. I threw them all away, I could have kept a couple. My friends liked it better than I did. They told me the music reminded them of Terminator. They still ask me about those Tempest tracks.

I like garage a bit better than dnb. I havent played my Dizzy Rascal records since 04. I dont really know too much about the music over there like Gabber from the Netherlands. What the hell is that?

Im into trip hop more than any other music from the uk! I love that ish. Portishead, FKA Twigs, Morcheeba, Esthero. My influence comes alot from the soul and rnb music my mother would listen to as a kid. Also the funk my sisters were into and the hip hop my cousins did.

Well the tones from the wavetables were expected. I like the filters in the 4000, and I have Moog filters to compare to.

Almost forgot, I am a hater. I hate to hate and love to love vs loving to hate and hating to love.
