Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

Please sum1 help me!!!!!!!!!!!
Iv been offered a mpc 4000 but its been used in a studio and even has sum scratches (!)
i was wondering if u could help me by telling me a thing or two to watch out for when buying it. (common faults)
Eg. a couple of tests i can do to check everything is working ok!
Any feedback would be muchly appreciated

if ur buyin locally check the global settings for memory
bring 2 cd's one with some samples to check the hardrive

another a blank cd to see if the recording works

make sure there are no small lines going back and forth on the screen
bring some snakes and test the 8 outs if u can

bring scsci zip test that ish out

I would defenitly check if all push buttons still work/ react fast enough.
Off course check the 16 pads, knobs and sliders as well.
Take your headphones with ya to see if the convertors are still fine (crackles and noise maybe?)

there is someway to check all the buttons...I think you hold the shift down and press global??? don't remember for sure

Press Global then press Global+Shift. In the test mode you can test the buttons, pads, sliders, knobs. the only things that will not work in the test mode is Gain, REC Gain, Main Vol. and the Headphone Volume.
