CC 64 - The disappearing midi

I've finally gotten round to sequencing my tanzbar from the mpc. What a difference! With no trouble i quickly got down to adjusting CC values on the fly and recording those adjustments. I've not test them all but i did notice CC64, which is supposed to affect the decay on the first BD, had no effect. When i checked it, i noticed it didn't even record in any of adjustments. This makes me think the issue is not with the tanzbar, but rather the MPC.

Any thoughts?

I honestly have no idea. I'd have to get out my 4k and try to send CC 64 externally and see what the deal might be. But in the default MIDI CC spec CC 64 is Damper Pedal /Sustain Pedal with the values split between off/on split from 0-63 and 64-127. Maybe the 4k has it hardwired to only send on/off based off that. But as I said I really don't know.

Apparently the Tanzbar MIDI CC guide is not very accurate, and is full of mistakes.

I would guess that is the problem, rather than the MPC.

yeah, the tanzbar manual is a mess. but surely it should still record the values in the mpc?

Convert sustain pedal to duration field

Selects how sustain pedal (control change #64) will be processed while realtime-recording a sequence.

Choose one of the following settings.
YES ........................Sustain pedal on/off will be converted into note durations. (The duration of the recorded note events will be lengthened.)
NO..........................Sustain pedal will be recorded as normal data.

Hint: This function lets you prevent problems that can occur if a sustain pedal Off event is accidentally erased, causing the sustain pedal to “stick” in the On position.
