I dont know if this is the right place for this, but i'm going to upload a video of the MPC 4000 factory disc demo sequence, as well as browse through the samples and kits that come with the original factory disc using aksys on windows 7 via xp mode.

I just happened to see the recent upload of the thread and downloaded the disc, just to see what it came with. I've had an mpc 2000, 2000 XL and now the 4000 all used so I never had the original disc. I think it was cool because I just wanted to sample anyway, plus I had a keyboard that generated its own sounds, while Ive had the 4000 and now a synth--I dont have any keyboard sounds to manipulate or just toss over drums to see how things fit....had I known the original factory disc came with keyboard sounds via sample (horns, strings, pianos, guitars, brass, even drums, and the usual effects, pads, rain, thunder, gunshots--basically anything a casio keyboard would give you) it would hae saved headaches and made the usage even more fun.
The stock sounds that come with the disc arent turrible, and they can be cleaned up via effects from the mpc, that being said I dont know if they'll ever be as lavish as say sounds from a fantom or via reason or fruityloops.
Ive seen people make incredible stuff on cheap casio keyboards so I reckon it's all about your creativity and imagination. As I learn more and more about this machine, I am continually shocked as to what it can do.
In the demo sequence alone it switched bpm's several times and has seemless transitions, going into some of the programs the demo sequence uses and seeing how it's set up and an experience in itself as I dont fully understand how it is done.Unless something happens i'll figure it out,
I actually know someone who used to work for akai and has tons of knowledge and experience as well as funny stories talking to producers about how to do stuff on mpc's and general questions, im going to push my limits and then pick his brain.
