Sampling from internal HD

Hi All,

it's my first post here. I have decided to quit with the ITB world, so I was looking for an MPC. The 4k seems the one for me, but I would like to know if it's possible to sample from the internal hard drive.
I mean: I have lots of wav tracks that I would like to sample from. Can I move them from my computer to the 4k HD with the AkSys software and sample them? I know it's possible to burn a CD and sample from it, but I have not clear if I can do this directly from the HD.

Yes. But you have to first load the sound into the mpcs memory.

Got it, thanx. So it is the same as sampling from the internal CD-ROM, isn't it?

The last 4k firmware allows you to sample directly from the CD-ROM, with play/stop/transport control and everything.

Once you save your samples onto the mpc's hard drive you can load them into the mpc's ram where you can edit them from there. Then you can assign them to programs or multi's & save them.
Yeah its like sampling from the rom drive.
Or you can use a software program to edit your samples then transfer them to the mp via Aksys.

Im on 1.70 & used to be able to do this but I changed my cd drive after the last one failed & now I cant.
I guess I got the wrong drive

Thanks to everyone guys. Now it's time to find a nice 4K on sale. I am looking at two offers now here in Italy. The first is at 1.000€, the second at 1.200 both fully expanded. Hope to find the right one soon.
