Monitor input signal in main mode

Has anyone come up with another solution to monitor the input signal in main mode? This is one feature I really enjoyed on the MPC 2500. Sometimes I start with the melody from the keyboard. Then I would want to play around with some drum sounds while that melody is playing. Looks like I may have to get a small mixer.

Memories a little hazy with this one. Im pretty sure you can monitor the input while playing the sequence. What do you want to do in main mode?

I just want to listen to the incoming signal while I play with my drums in main mode.

Soon ill pull the MPC out of storage! I gotta get back to you on the answer.
