Q link fader trouble

Anyone had a problem where the q link fader, the one that controls the volume in the mixer page, doesnt track properly and the parameter on the screen jumps about wildly with only a small movement of the fader,
I think i may have a hardware problem even though the problem only seemed to occur with 1.6.

Use the test check mode to find out if it is a hardware problem. Press Global, then Shift+Global.

thanks for the info adrian, It still does the same thing on this screen so i geuss i need a new fader, eh?
