Setting loop points in track or sequence ?

Hey all !

Just wondered if it's possible to set loop point in tracks or sequence other than the standard 1 bar.
Can't we set a sequence or track loop start at 0.5 bar or less and a sequence or track loop end at 1 for exemple or lp Strt at 3/4 and loop end at 1.1/4?
just asking because sometime there are some little jewels poping out at looping small part of a sequence or track ( i mean smaller than 1 bar obviously ) and that would be a shame to miss them right ? without mentioning that sometimes you might just want to create sequences of half a bar if you wish, or play different tracks with different loop point setting, seems the base for me...
sorry if it's been discuted before, i'm very new to my mpc and i think a good sequencer should allow you to do this, no ?

At this current timeframe, the MPC series (all MPC's) are only able to have
all tracks of an individual sequence at the same number or bars or length. It has
been officiall requested that the MPC 4000 provide individual track lengths feature
which Akai is reviewing to determine if it is something that they will be able to implement.


Now that would be a nice Christmas OS suprise... especailly since Robert's already laid
out how it can work with the existing UI, all they have to do is write the code
that provides that,I know that's easier said then done .

Can software sequencers do this? Have individual loop settings per track. I've
only briefly used Nuendo/Logic/Cubasae as most of my computer sequencing has
been on Linux or on my Mac Plus running Master Tracks Pro 5. But from what
I could see, you can only set the loop point in cubase/nuendo at the top of the screen
where all tracks in the sequence follow.

As said above, I could be wrong, as I'm a super Novice on Windows/Mac based sequencers.

Though, I can't say that it wouldn't be useful. I know that my MAQ repeating 8 steps
can sound pretty cool, but I just emulate that on my MPC , by copying and pasting
the 8 steps to 16 so it will be a full bar.

Also, I don't think the original Individual Track length proposal actually asked for
less then 1 bar, so you may want to send your own RFE request for such a feature to
[email protected] for that feature. They may or may not implement it, but at least
they know what their end users are seeking.
