Hey, I just found this on the Yahoo forum....if you can call it that.

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to give you some quick feedback regarding thec developments at Akai Professional, and hopefully, ease some concerns.
As you may know, AMIC has been the US distributor for the past several years. Recently AMIC closed, and I know there has been some concern over the continued development of Akai Professional products. I also recently reported that I was no longer with AMIC, since I had been laid off. At the time of AMIC's closing, there were indications that APMI
(Akai Professional Musical Instruments), the Japanese corporation responsible for the development and manufacture of the Akai Professional products, had plans for restructuring distribution in the US market. As of yesterday I was contacted and offered a temporary position to help continue technical support in the US market. We now have technical support via telephone (same numbers) up and available again, and I'm guessing that e-mail support should be fully operational sometime next week. Please note that it may take a while to get caught up since we are contacting those that have left messages during the down time -and there are MANY people to contact. If you contacted us during the last 3 weeks, please be patient. We will get to your questions as soon as we can. If you do not hear from us within the next week, please contact us again, as I know that a few messages were lost during the down period. Software development has never been affected by the change in distribution in the US market. Development has continued and new releases will be forthcoming, although I do not yet have a schedule, or information on the content of those releases. As soon as I have this information I will let you know. At this time the full details of the changes have not been disclosed. Once we are in a position to make an official announcement we will do so, and I will let you know as much as I can. I hope this helps,

David
