Sampling from cd???

I cant seem to sample in stereo from my internal cd burner. It will only allow me too sample in mono. Is there a setting that I have to change to do this?

In the record menu directly below Input source: Internal (Analog) move the cursor to Mode then turn jog wheel to Stereo.

I tried,and it only plays in the right field and not the left.

I would say... Check 2 things...

1. Make sure the CD itself is Stereo. I'm guessing it is, as you say it only shows up
on the right side, but not the left. As Mono, should put the same thing in both left
and right, so I don't think it's this, but check in Soundforge (if you're a PC person)
or Peak (if you're a Mac person) and make sure that you have a left and a right.


2. Open up the MPC4000 and make sure both Analog inputs are connected. I haven't
opened up an MPC yet, but on a PC, you have 2 connectors from the CD to the computer.
If one gets disconnected, then you'll only get sounds in one channel.

I don't think a mono signal coming off the CD is compliant with the Red book standard. I don't think you could have that.
