aksys as a pad/drum editor??

How do I do this? I want to drag samples to pads but I can't get rid of the keyboard interface with akasys... manual not helping very much

right click on the icon that is called mpc4000. it should have the little pic of a 4000 to the left of it. you can do it in either left or right view. the just scroll down and select pad editor.

Ha, well I knew it must be there somewhere but fukk me what a funny place to hide it... now I'll have to spend all nite putting together all my luvverly 96k Machinedrum samples... many thanks

Pad Editor? Haha didn't even know there was one. Cool, must try it out when I get home.

I think its an afterthought as you can't enter the mod matrix from there, which is really necessary... (unless that is hidden somewhere?) but its handy as it is a time saver to make the initial assignments.

I hope this will be updated in a future version??

The Pad editor is really in a weird spot. Is there a way you can drop a whole mess of samples into the editor and it will automatically place them 1 sample per pad. I don't think you can do this, but it would be cool if you could. I always drop them one at a time.

Are you guys using ak.sys 2.5.3 or 2.6.1? I'm using Mac OS9 mostly but tried downloading 2.6.1 in OSX and it doesnt work - it just shows me info about Ak.sys and doesn't acknowledge my MPC. The 2.5.3 is ok but you can't audition samples before you drag it in (which you can with the latest version). The MpcPgmMaker1.22 is really good, plus it can convert SDII & AIFF to WAV and when U click on the pads it plays the sample. 2 major things tho - it hasn't got zones and the MPC4k can't understand the program it creates since it's really for 2kXL & 3k.
