I havent ever upgraded my MPC yet, but what does the new OS version have that would be helpful on the MPC? I was reading what it had and some stuff said that somethings changed and I dont know if it's really worth upgrading it, I'm fine with how the MPC works now, but is the new OS version better?, is it worth it?

Back up all your files, just to be safe and then update to 1.60 without delay. 1.60 is stable and many of the bugs are fixed. Don't waste anymore time.

Yeah defently install OS 1.6! :P
Its a bit slower then 1.5 but is far more stable and has plenty more features! Including pre-hearing your samples from HD, CD and USB sticks.
Better hurry up! http://www.akaipro.com/int/download/index.html

What do you mean by "slower", you mean if I set the Tempo of my song to
138 BPM's, that it will actually play slower, like at 134 BPM's?

I really don't know what you mean by that it's "slower"?

My MPC showed up the day that OS 1.6 came out, so ALL of my experience has
been on 1.60, so I don't have any reference to earlier versions and how they
were "faster"

Cheers...

Cheers, I had heard of LCD update problems prior to 1.50 (from reading this forum
before buying my MPC), but didn't know any new ones existed. Since I haven't
seen it, I won't worry about it? Hopefully if there is a problem, somebody is able to
give Akai a reproducible set of steps, so they can see and resolve it.

I'll continue using 1.60 until a new Beta comes out :)

One of the things that was fixed (which was a major thing for me) was the sync drifting. I run Logic on my Mac and happy with the upgrade. Haven't noticed any slowing down. Will keep my eye out.

No matter where U are on the main page you can now keep the timing correct button pressed for a second & it takes you to TC page without cursoring your way up there.

I mean when for example I adjust the pan in multi window, while playing the sequence/ song, the panning goes slower then on 1.51. Also for volume, tune etc
Entering samplepage is slower too. Loading and saving samples to and from HD is slower.

Just went from main page to sample editor & still dont notice any difference. You must be talking proper milliseconds man. :)

I'll try adjusting some parameters while sequence is going and check that aswell.
