midi problems with roland xp60

i am having problems using my roland xp60 with the 4000. i can sequence the xp60 with the 4000, but everytime i hit a key on the xp60 it triggers samples from the 4000 along with it's own internal soundz. never had this problem with my old mpc2000. any help is greatly appreciated....

I dont use an XP60, but if you dont want the XP60 to trigger its own internal sounds, usually theres a function on most kayboards called 'local control'...turn it off. If you dont want the keyboard to trigger sounds in the 4k, you need to change the midi channel on the 4K so that its recieving on a different midi channel than the program(s) with sounds on them.
