hey guys, been using the mpc 4k for a couple of months now after using mpc's 60 2k, 2kxl and 3k for ages. There is 1 thing that i cant seem to do - move files or folders on the internal Hard drive, either on the mpc itself or from aksys.. Please, someone tell me that you can do this ! and how to do it. Peace.

Sorry, I dont think you can. You will have to move the files into ram and then back to the HD. Soon, hopefully, we will be able to audition sounds dirrectly from HD, but I dont know if we will ever be able to move things arround on the HD without going to ram. But maybe that will be possible through AkSys once the 'audition' feature is introduced.

You should just max out the RAM and use Aksys for now. Especially if the CL2's are going to stop being made soon(rumor)....WHAT?

I'm begining to think that Akai dont completely know what they are doing when it comes to computers. They make great sampler/drum machines and other audio equipment, but right now, they are not on the same level as programers who work for Apple or Microsoft. Akai is a Japanese corporation, and I wonder if that can delay the development process some what....on the software side. Obviously there hardware is rock solid....

Just some observations, not judgments....

Thanks for the reply. I feared that you couldn't. AKAI - You had better add this to the list of things to do.
