Not dissing you but how is that a hot combo. All he is doing is using the mpc for its drums and the mv as a seq. This cost about 5 gees to do this. To me that was a waste of money.
fairly simple ... a 4k and an mv is imo a hotter combo as a 4k or an mv alone ... and so are many others ... despite that i like gear ... no music instrument i ever bought left my place here and 90 % is gettin regularly used ... i probably wouildn't choose an mv to ad to my setup but surely wouldn't mind if i had one ... and djflash seems to have made up his mind on how to use them both .... mpc for drums, mv for everythin else ... never planned to go that way myself but still ... that sounds ok to me ... never heard some mv fxs yet, but i m sure they are ok ... just got one roland synth here and imo its effects are really good too ... those are one of the little internal effects i really like to use ... so its all good ...
moreover ... lately i been using my 4k as a multitracker to record some friends here ... and i would desperately just need either some more rams or auditioning from hd ...
where i m gettin sceptic are 2 things:
1. whether its a good decision to buy 2 things in one day ... especially if they do similar things .... might happen that you just spent time to use and learn one whilst not finding time and use for the other .... i couldn't appreciate my virtualizer coz i just liked the lexicon better ... if i would have bought it half a year later at least when i bought it i would have used it ... and in that case it just were some fx-units ..... dunno bout flahs experience with mpcs but imo the mpc and the mv are 2 monsters and it might take some time to master each of them ...
2. hardwaresequencers ain't for everyone:
got a friend i session with regularly ....he is into electronic music since the late 80s, buiklding his own external fxs and samplers and he was enthusiastic about the 4k when it came out ... meanwhile he ain't anymore coz he misses things on the 4k his softseq can do ... i fully understand him coz i see the way he worx on the pc and on the 4k ... its just not suited to how he does his stuff ...
despite that its always nice to see that there are still some crazy people outthere that buy gear .... some even get a 4k and an mv in one day! .... can ya believe

dang every other day i find myself involved into some senseless discussions with some friends here at my place that argue that pcs or macs or whateva else is the way to go ... and at the same time i see that
1. they know that the 4k has pads and not much more
2. they dont know the difference between a c and a d and a 3/4 or a 4/4 and
3. their shit is crashing all the time ... past 3 days i sessioned with a friend on his fabolous new ableton and that pc - no joke and no surprise either .... crashed 3 times per session ... my 4k last crashed on os 1.33 ... no way that i will slave it to that dizzy ableton just to hear the presets of some new plastic his sequencer ain't even able to handle ...
yo and a comment to gear and setup discussions ... imo there are 2 things which are always gettin mixed up but shouldnt - one thing is to talk about music and another to talk about money ... and i m not interested in the second discussion at all ...
peace and bangin beaz
